Feeling horrible for forgetting.....

I am feeling so bad for forgetting my poms heartworm monthly dose. He was supposed to take it on the 22nd so I am two days late. I switched phones and all my monthly reminders had to be retransferred and so I didn't notice until today. Will everything be ok? Two days doesn't seem like a big deal to me but he's a puppy so I want to be absolutely sure. Thanks :)

Most heartworm medications actually last 45 days but they say give it monthly since that's easier to remember. So two days won't hurt anything. If it makes you feel any better, I don't give any at all and my pups have always been fine. They get tested every 6 months and I've never had a positive. (And I live in southern USA) Just how I do it in my home. Again, don't worry. Your pup will be fine!

I do a 45 day routine. That stuff does prevent heartworm, but otherwise is not so great for the dog. So I like to stretch out the doses. I also live in the south, but my dogs spend a lot of time in the house, especially during mosquito season when it's hot. They really like air conditioning!
