Its not a serious issue by any means. I am going to ask my boss ( the vet ) at work tomorrow. but I have never seen this before...
Leo's nail ( front declaw )must have split a little on the bottom. and his quick is coming out of the nail. it looks just fine...no bleeding, no swelling. just a little bubble of flesh coming out of the bottom of his nail. It does not seem to bother him at all. He licked it a little. I would imagine its sensitive to touch and probably even the air.
has anyone seen this before? what do you do for it? Ill ask the doctor in the morning but I know he will tell me just to wait and see what happens. This is the same nail he ripped off a few months ago playing in the yard we had to put him under to make sure the nail was a clean break...there was no nail left to have broken he pulled the whole nail out. and it took quite a bit to stop the bleeding. it grew back just fine. Seems the bottom part of the nail peeled off and then exposed the quick.
