So Zoey is 7.5 months old now (been with us since February). I'm constantly wondering what breeds she is. She was a transport from Mississippi and was labeled Plott Hound mix at the shelter. Vet said probably some type of hound/retriever mix. Puppy class instructor said she thought she saw Boxer in her. She's only about 36 lbs right now, very long and lean. So, always open to guesses! She did discover her big girl voice last night and it was definitely "houndy." Anyway...on to pictures!

I still agree with plott hound mix. She's adorable and such a Maisy look-a-like. Don't see any boxer in her myself.

Plott mix is my guess as well. Had a plott/ blackmouth cur hog dog growing up that looked a lot like her. Zoey is a lovely girl!

Don't know much about Plott Hounds ... or what else is in the mix ... but she is beautiful!

Thanks everyone! She is turning into an awesome little dog. I think that maybe I have some stereotypical perceptions of hounds that she's not living up to and that makes me wonder more about what she is. She's doing so amazing with recall, we practice a lot. She doesn't seem to be big into wandering either (yet, fingers crossed) which is a huge relief. Whatever she is, I love her very much.

Seriously, I wonder if the boxer guess was just because of her brindling. I really don't see any boxer at all. Definitely hound of some kind in the mix which is what I usually call Maisy these days and leave it at that.
