It is pretty funny trying to train Indie sometimes.
If I get her treats out or she sees me cutting up some cheese she will do the best sit and wait till I approach her.
Then when I approach her and wait she will do EVERY trick/command she knows even though I haven't said anything yet haha. It is actually hilarious. She mainly does this with cheese and raw meat.
She also does it if I get her lead out.

What treats get your dogs worked up?

Cheese is a favourite with mine, but also they always get leftovers like steak, chicken, pork, etc and they will, too, perform every trick they know for it before I even ask.

My dog seems to prefer whatever someone else has. In our last training class, she went wild over the treats from the trainer. We bought some of the same kind to use the next week, but, she wasn't interested at all. What did she want? The treats from the trainer.

Tanks is my home-made peanut butter dog treats I make him(he has a picky stomach so I like to make my own treats)
Bentley is his tennis ball, stick or any other kind of toy. He likes food too but is more toy driven
Mae is cheese or pickles.

Peanut butter, I think, is one of Gun's favorites. I always let him clean the peanut butter jars when they're almost empty. When I tell him, "bang, you're dead!" it usually takes a while until he's finally "dead", but with peanut butter, he goes right down. He also likes liver and pretty much any meat I have.

But he is definitely more play driven. When there are dogs or balls to be played with, he could care less about treats.

Cheese and Hot dogs by far!!! ... and steak which we don't have that often ... and they cannot have it ... because it always gives them the runs ... even with the fat trimmed off. :)

Natural Balance rolls are very popular around here. Cheese or sausage if the reward needs to come from my mouth. Chicken livers, gizzards. Hot dogs.

Really though, the best way to increase the value is by mixing them up. I usually take 3 or 4 different treats to classes or training sessions and mix it up.

batman's favorites are a bacon and chicken. as for commercial treats he seems to get tired of them all pretty quickly except for ham it up, by waggin train. it is dried real ham.

I was trying to be prepared before we adopted batman, so i bought milk bones, ham it up, some fig newton like bars of something, and some "training treats." I wish I had waited cause he doesn't even like them that much. lol.

Anything we're eating? Hamilton loves cheese. He rarely, rarely gets it because we don't keep much in the house - I'm vegan, my husband is watching his weight/has high cholesterol and will eat a block of cheese if it's here. When we went to my reunion in June, there were cheese cube trays all over and we gave pieces to Hamilton and he went bananas for it! (He also likes bananas) As far as dog treats go, he likes the dehydrated chicken breasts (so hard to find made in USA), and bully sticks (I buy organic ones at my co-op, no joke. organic penises.). He is bonkers for cat treats and cat food. He likes whatever anyone else is handing out at the park too, even if he wouldn't touch it if I gave it to him.
