I went to the park around 8:30 this morning, and being that's it Saturday it was pretty packed.

The way the park is set up, you walk around a curve and can see off in the near-distance the dog park which you get to by walking down and around a man-made pond.

I could see someone sitting on the bench with a dog that I thought was a shepherd running loose. Are you kidding me? Not but 15 yards away is the dog park, pens to let your dog runs loose. You're not allowed to leave them loose in the rest of the park... Well this person was. I kept walking, Donatello couldn't have cared but the other dog perked up and could see us walking- The person did too, stood up and I could see them shaking their head... As if I'm the one in the wrong for walking my dog in the park on a leash. At this time I can tell it's an older woman, she leashes her dog and they start walking slowly... I'm booking it, as usual.

As they're not 10 feet away the woman greets me, semi-friendly, as her dog is pulling towards Donatello- It looked like a black/tan/white LARGE Shiba-Inu. It had recently been groomed so I have no idea what the breed really was, but her eyes never left Donatello, and I didn't like the look in them...

I pulled Donatello in and beside me and pulled him into the grass and the woman intentionally starts walking towards me, instead of staying on the other side of the lane- her dog pulling and gasping- It's clear I don't like it by the look on my face and the way I'm completely off the path trying to walk way out and around.

She gets attitude, she obviously wanted them to meet- F*** that! So I hurried past hoping the dog wouldn't pull from her grasp and I hear her going off, "She wouldn't have hurt you or you damn ugly mutt, *SHEESH* She's friendly!"

Are you serious? I just kept on walking and ignored her... I would hate for someone to be allergic to dogs or to be deathly-afraid of them to come up on that woman and her dog... She has no respect for other people. Just because there's a chance her dog would have been friendly doesn't matter, maybe Donatello wasn't! Did she think of that?

-.- I thought that was going to be an omen, but it wasn't... We had a really good time and made some accomplishments.

Unfortunately, I'm convinced that nit-wit (my generous term) dog-owners greatly outnumber the semi-conscious ones.

They give dog-owners, and dogs, a bad name and make life immensely more complicated for the rest of us.

BSL and other anti-dog legislation doesn't just appear out of the blue. It's a response to the nit-wit dog owners who are determined to ruin things for everyone.

Thank you for letting me hijack your rant so I could roll out my soap-box.

I always love people who feel what THEY want their dog to do is more important than if YOU actually want their dog to do it. I get this all the time -- Icesis doesn't care about dogs, and they annoy her if they come up to her all gasping and freaking out to sniff her. But 9 out of 10 times, the owner thinks it's totally okay, even when it's obvious I'm trying to avoid them.

Exactly Pai! She was intent on having her dog meet Donatello, even though it was clear I wasn't comfortable letting that happen!

Then she curses me and my dog? *Psh, please, she wasn't even worth a waste of breath!

Some people are complete morons. I get sick of hearing the same old "she is friendly" while the dog is dragging its owner down, Blaze does NOT like introductions like that at all, so i would have kept walking as well. a dog who is so hyper and dragging would probably freak blaze out and set him off.

There is this nit wit husband and wife, and their 2 golden rets. I see often. The older dog is VERY VERY agressive, has actually attacked Blaze once. I see them often like I said, and they always stop and basicly wait for me to approach, and then try and walk their moron dogs over to me. I had my last starw last week when I literally walked down the middle of the road when I seen them. And they started to come directly towards me now too, int he middle of the road. I said "Please keep your dog away from mine, he is very agressive, and you have no control over him, espeacially while he is on a 15 foot flexi lead, please keep him away from me and my dog" She had to catch her jaw from hitting the ground i think. She was pissed at what I had to say you could tell, oh well.

Haha- Well thanks RonE for the compliment, when I first adopted Donatello, he really wasn't all that cute- He was skinny, scrawny and very rat-like, but now- To me, he's the cutest guy in the world!

So even if she really thought Donatello was *ugly*, what did she think she was going to accomplish? Did she expect me to cry and fall to the ground, "Oh God, WHY?! WHY DID YOU MAKE MY DOG UGLY??" -.- Yeah, right! lol!

Tankstar: Donatello has a sixteen-foot Flexi lead and I tell you having him on one of those, and him being who he is makes me that more conscientious about it! Every time we come up on a situation I pull him in, lock it and make him walk by my side- Which even if I don't lock it, he listens perfectly... It's all on the user, and most of the users abuse the freedom that comes with a Flexi lead, but I don't...

I would have loved to talk back and rattle that woman's bird-cage, but I promote my business via t-shirts with bold text... I try not to be rude in public, I just ignore the morons and a$$holes, then come on here and vent. : P
