Hello
I own a beautiful collie/ malamute mix called kishka, we've owned her since a puppy and shes truly blossomed into a brilliant family pet, but recently in the past week , weve came across a problem.
She wont stop yapping in her crate, she wines and paws the cage door
Now Kishka only goes into her crate for bed time 12-9 when we are asleep, 20 minutes during the day for when we clean the house daily and 10 minutes for when we have our tea of an evening
now she is trusted to wander round the house for the rest of the time during the day as she loves our company and lies by.our feet
she goes to dog training classes every week
she has 4 long walks a day
She has food and water and plenty of toys available all round the house including her crate, we have fresh bones and filled kongs
She has only started having these yapping tantrums in the past week. They are horrible for us , nevermind the neighburs ! We had our first complient today of ourlovely neighbours and i feel terrible
what should i do, its problemactic as i dont want to keep upsetting our lovely neighbours but we are doing everything we can

It could be that she suffered a scare while she was in the crate - a loud noise, thunder, etc. and now she has associated the crate with that fear. Do you recall anything like that occuring? Has anything unpleasant happened to her while she was in the crate? Perhaps somebody accidentally bumped the crate and startled her, or maybe she got her paw caught in some part of the crate.

You may not even know what happened, if something did, that caused her to fear the crate. Maybe start over with crate training--play crate games with her. Feed her yummy treats in the crate. Play with her while she's in the crate (door open). Make the crate a special place where she gets lots of great things.
