hi, my dog slipped and hurt her leg 2 months ago. since then she (labrador, 11 y.o., heavy) is limping and hurting, and its getting worse.

We've just spent some hours at the Animal Hospital and after examination of the xray (and by hand before that) the Vet think its 95% tumor of the bone. but without Biopsy they cant be sure.
Biopsy is complicated for a dog her age.

i copy the xray shot and paste it here.

what else can it be? is it indeed tumor and whats the chance its not?

Well you can't tell for sure if it's a tumor without a biopsy, but... the location and appearance, as well as your dog's age and symptoms, make cancer pretty high on the list.

In particular, the way that there are both what are called "proliferative" (areas of bone growth, particularly the white fuzzy areas on the front edge of the humerus or upper leg bone near the joint) and "destructive" (areas of destruction, the darker mottled areas near the shoulder joint) areas on the bone, and the way that these changes do not "cross the joint" (that is, the humerus is involved but the scapula or shoulder blade is not) are very typical of bone cancer.

I'm sorry, good luck with your dog.
