It's not familiar to me, and it sounds like she used some pretty outdated training methods, to be honest. This is an excellent resource, using the most current training methods. Fenzi Dog Sports Academy - Pet Dog Training Online - Video Presentations You can purchase videos individually or in packages.

If they would prefer a free resource, then I recommend the Kikopup videos on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-qnqaajTk6bfs3UZuue6IQ and Deb Jones' Cooperative Care videos. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLdrsXsstUUTcTdWS21pZVA

There's been a lot of advancements in dog training over the past couple decades as we've learned more about how dogs think and learn. I'm glad the video worked for you in the past, but there's lots of evidence now that methods relying on a lot of physical manipulation like you're describing can cause behavioral problems in the long-term. The best part is, there isn't a time limit for these modern methods, as they'll work safely and effectively with adults and puppies. Good luck on your hunt, but maybe suggest your friend check out some current dog training methods as well so they can decide for themselves what works best for them and their dog.

It's too bad. I mean, I can't think of any profession working with something as complicated as living things where there haven't been changes and improvements from where things were 20 years ago.
