i really need ideas. My dog is a big failure when it comes to house training. I've had her for almost 3 years. Tried everything to get her house trained. Nothing worked. She's hated a crate and will go potty in it if i leave her. We moved into a home where she will stay out in the garage when we're gone. She has a way to go out on the cement pad to do her business but winter is coming. Not sure how to keep her warm this winter. The back door has to stay open in order for her to go out but that won't work once winter blows in. I'm lost as to what I'm going to do for winter for her. Any ideas? Help

Have you visited a vet to rule out physical issues?

For the garage situation, a dog door seems like a natural solution - I wouldn't want one to my house itself, but if you're already leaving the garage door open anyway, a dog door would be a step up in terms of security.
