Yesterday, after not trialing in AKC Obedience for 11 years, I walked into my first Novice B trial. I was simply hoping to qualify for his first leg. Not only did we qualify, but we won the class with a score of 196 (all points off were my mistakes). When first place was mentioned you could have knocked me over with a feather.
One thing that was nice is when I was leaving the ring the judge said, "Your dog is lively and happy." If I had not even qualified, THAT was worth it.
After pictures I went out to the food truck and got them to give me a 6 ounce raw hamburger for my dog (grass fed!! dog eats better than me). He cared not one bit about the ribbon. He did approve of the hamburger. Ha!
