My 6-month-old lab mix "hides" his bones and treats all over the house. He will eat small chewy treats, but he will usually hide and pretend to "bury" larger treats or hard ones like Milk Bones, and he's hidden all his Nylabones. The vet said his canine teeth are coming in so at first I thought his teeth were bothering him -- but the other day we gave him a Busy Bone to try and he chewed it right up. Today I gave him one and he "hid" it. Also, sometimes he will go find some of the treats he's hidden and eat them later. Not the Nylabones, though. He hid those the day we brought him home and hasn't touched them since. He "buries" stuff in his crate, too. He doesn't hide any of his toys -- just treats and bones. Any insight into why he does this? Should I pick up the stuff that he hides or just leave it alone? I don't want to attract ants.
