Resort to other means to cool down a very hot dog!!!!!

He loves the hose as you will see. He attacks it and gets it right down the throat then gags out the excess!!!! He is a funny dog. Well here we go!

This is the attentive look i got when i said, "Want to get the hose!"

ok then, lets go!

Is that the best you got!

Here i come.............

What great shots! It's cool that he likes the hose. My Jake appears to hate the water... baths, hose, squirt guns. Rain. Although earlier today he accidentally jumped into our new inflatable pool... apparently he didn't realize there was water in it since the cover was on

I really love Bello's coloring. He's such a handsome dog, and that smile in the first pic is just priceless.

Great pictures! He looks so happy and cool. At our house, we call it playing pool but Poca's focus is really biting the water coming out of the hose as I fill up the kiddie pool. She's not as much interested once I turn the hose off.

This is not a great shot (cell phone) but you can see her biting the water. It's a hoot.

Thanks for all your replies!!!!! Last year i couldn't wait to open the pool to see how bello would like water and unfortunately he would not go in the pool all the way. Only up to his mid legs. I want to try a lake this year and see if he will go in that being it is more open and he will have less pressure from people trying to get him to jump in. He loves the hose and the bathtub and i think he would like the pool if he can get over his nerves. He is a bit afraid i believe.

so we will see this year if he is still afraid or not. I hope he will go in on his own !!

Thanks again for all the replies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Jcd I think he needs one of these

He might not feel real secure but if he had a flotation device maybe he would. My dogs for the most part are land lovers. They like to go in and run around in the water maybe swim a few strokes if they accidentally go in too deep but prefer to keep their paws on solid ground. Doesn't make them any less the water lovers though.
That first picture is my favorite. That is the picture of a happy dog. :D

Hi Inga. Thanks for the link. I think they are a cool product but i am not sure one of those would get him in the pool in the first place? He was in a few times last year(not by his choice) and he swims extremely well. He just won't make the first move to go in. I think a lake he may go in and we will see, maybe this the pool will work for him.

I love that first pic also. I love bello's big block head! He is a very happy doggy! THANKS!

I just love the close up shot with Bello sticking his tongue out. I wish my dog's loved the hose like that - great way to cool them down.
I agree luvmyrotti. like i said he (so far) won't go in the pool all the way and he really doesn't handle hot days very well. He is a heavy breather when it comes to heat so until he hopefully someday likes the pool, the hose is a great other option!!!

Why not get him a wading pool? That way he can walk in, lay down or do whatever. I had a dog that unless she could walk in (like a lake or beach) she would not go in. He may never like a regular pool but he could have his own...;)
I just may do that alpha! i bet he would feel safer to start atleast. THANKS!

Those are so cute me and hubby are chuckling. What a fun dog.
Glad you enjoyed them!!! He is a very active dog and like another child!!

Looks like fun. I love the first picture in the second post. He looks so.. un-Bello like :D Oh and also the picture after that of him lunging into the hose. LOL.
Ya that look in that pic you speak of is what i call "the gopher look". He reminds me of those 2 cartoon gophers on the bugs bunny show ( if you are old enough to remember good old bugs of course!) hehehe:rolleyes: But trust me, its bello!!:D
