this is a little game, what's your mutt's fancy-schmancy "AKC Name?"

I suppose it's poking a bit of fun at the show set.... and yeah, it's probably cause I'm jealous their dogs get to have these uber long, and sometimes a skosh pretentious, names. So, let's make our own fun, and make up AKC names for our mutts! :)

Zoey is Zoey von Awesomesauce

Emmett's AKC name is Emmett Wiggle Butt

What name would you give your mutt?

My friend registered her Poodle mix mutt with the AKC as "Howie Spitz" His first name is Howie and her last name is Spitz. He's a great little agility dog and she plans on entering her first trial with him this year!
*(Leeo Kleenex Bandit Bentley)*

Blu Boy Of Ragedy Andy

Abby tug A Rug Lynn

Lucky Lucy O Lisbon

No way, for real? I'd love to register my dogs, just for funsies!

Ya you can register mutts with their canine partners program, intended for people with mutts who want to compete in agility, obedience, or rally-o but I suppose if you want to spend the money on the registration just for funsies that's ok too lol.

It's not a registry, but rather a listing. But here is the link to information

"Kit the half-baked half-breed"
It always gets a laugh from the crowd when it gets announced at sports competitions.

well, there is a limit to how much fun I'm willing to pay for... I am mildly toying with the idea of trying to learn agility with Emmett, but don't tell anyone, it's our secret. At the bare minimum, I want to get Canine Good Citizen for Emmett, and Zoey too. I wouldn't dare try agility with Zoey, she's too tall and barrell chested, she'd probably get tangled in one of the chutes, flip out, break it and then everyone would be mad at us, lol!

That's just awesome! *he he he*
Shrug. I can't tell you the mutts names as they are purebred and other than Woody intentionally bred and owned

Woody (the rescue) is Case's Tin Woodman
Rikki is Vision's Just Rikki (didn't name her)
Alice is Vision's Practical Magick
Ray is Celebrin's Asleepatthewheel

Nothing too fancy schmancy
Mutt:
Roonie as "The Sock Demon"

Not registered not-a-mutt:
Lady as "This Lady doesn't need a Tramp"

ASCA registered:
Kodi as "Code Red"
Merlin is AOM GCH Call Me Work N Some Magic

LOL, I think you missed the point. From the OP: "I suppose it's poking a bit of fun at the show set.... and yeah, it's probably cause I'm jealous their dogs get to have these uber long, and sometimes a skosh pretentious, names. So, let's make our own fun, and make up AKC names for our mutts!"
Provocajades McTrouble Monstor on the Loose (Gweeb)
Provocajades Supa Blaque Monstor (Jezzy)

These really are their names though just changed up a bit.
My aunt and uncle made up some fancy "registered" name for their mutt. I don't remember what it was, but his name was Prince so I'm sure it was "Prince _____ of the kingdom of _______".

I don't have any fancy names for my dogs. Moose is AKC registered and even his name is nothing fancy (I didn't name him). Just "Brutus Maximus XXIV" and the numbers are only there because he's not the only Brutus Maximus registered. If I ever get to make up a registered name I'm going to agonize over it forever, LOL.

I don't think he missed the point any more than I did.
When I registered Remmy for AAC I just called him Remmy. When he is not paying attention I call him "Remmington Steele".

I didn't miss the point..... I posted my dog's name.... Along with earned titles..... Only thing is I did not have to make it up. Well actually I did.... But it was years ago....

AKC names for show dogs typically just tell where the dog was bred and/or who the sire and dam were. It's not meant to be pretentious. Their owners still give them real names.
Our unregistered Irish Setter was named - Zeke Manfred the Third
Our Shepherd mix was named - Pukin' Duke Fozdyck
Our first small Spaniel mix was named - Shanticleer Perdilope

We've always had fun with this and all of ours have had a handle besides the name they go by.
