What's up with water?

Why are so many dogs terrified of a bath but will play in any manner of outdoor water?

I run the spout when I give my boy a bath, and throw some toys in with him too. He plays the entire time 😁

He has slowly gotten used to the idea of water. When he was little he even hated standing in puddles. Now he will swim at the lake!
