I am going to attempt to load a picture. Bear with me if it doesn't work. I am trying to hazard a guess as to what breeds went into this dog. She looks kind of like a cairn/schnauzer mix to me, but her smarts and attitude suggest a herding breed like Australian Cattle Dog, and I'm not sure where the white markings come from. She's most assuredly a dominant little booger.

Sizewise, she's about 20 pounds, give or take a few. I love her brindle coloring, too. She's incredibly easy to teach tricks. She's energetic also. Sometimes when she gets over-excited, she "loses her mind" and flies around the room in circles until she calms down. She chases the cats, but doesn't hurt them. Sometimes she stands over them like she's trying to assert her dominance. LOL. The cats don't get it. She also displays misdirected aggression from time to time. If she gets excited about something, she'll take it out on her "sister". I don't know if this trait applies more to one breed grouping than another. If I have the extra cash at some point, I may DNA test her, but I'm not sure how accurate they are. Any guesses as to her dominant breeds would be welcomed.
Thanks!

I am thinking the same as you ... Schnauzer/Cairn mix ... my little Eddee is a Schnauzer/possible Cairn and something mix. He is also brindle. All my Schnauzer mixes have larger than life personalities. They are big dogs in little dogs bodies! Lol! My late Leeo was a vigorous rodent hunter ... his favorite thing to do!

Eddee is a non-stop bundle of energy! He flies too! He also has misdirected aggression ... he bit me when I was trying to clip his nails yesterday ... but not enough to draw blood. I will just have to re-direct him! Lol! Eddee and Leeo both try/tried to control Abbylynn the 65 pound Dobie/Rott ... and do/did succeed. Eddee is only 11.8 pounds and Leeo was only 20 pounds. :)

Your pup is absolutely adorable!!! :)

I'd say there's some Boston Terrier in the mix. Those ears, the brindling, her muzzle is shorter, etc. Boston/Cairn? Boston/Schnauzer?

Cairns come in brindle so that doesn't have to be a trait from another breed but I agree the face suggests something other than Cairn/Schnauzer to me too.

I think you are on to something there that I really did not see. The face is much shorter ... maybe a mix of all three? :) ... Schnauzer/Cairn/Boston?

I have thought boston terrier or some other bully type breed also. Her whole stance suggests bulldog. She just seems to be larger than most of the breeds I see in her. She's too tall. I just call her my terrier terror. LOL. I mainly want to figure out her mix is to help me understand her behavior a bit better and how best to direct her energy. I figure she is a mix of mixes, for sure.
