What name did you give your dog and why

My dog is named Ginny. We got her as a young adult and her name was Ginger. I don't like that name, but really did not want to change it, so shortened it.

Buddy had that name as a pup from the people we got him from and I honestly couldn't think of a better name to fit him so Buddy stuck.
Novie-I wanted something Alaskan or AK Native but didn't want the usual...Yukon, Kobuk etx. Then I remembered my husband saying he spent alot of time on the Novie river as a kid. I liked it. So we named her Novie. It fits her.
