As I stated I have a 11 month old frenchie and ever since I got him his stool aren't very firm, I have tried everything, he was on purina pro plan and now i switch to blue buffalo, it helped with his farts problem but with his stool still soft, it isnt diarrhea it just soft and theres always leftover on his behind which is a hassle when he goes outside then comes back inside we have to see if he's dirty or not, i have given him rice and pumpkin puree with his food and it helps a bit but still some poop on him, what can i do on the long term so everything comes out good so it dont get stuck so i wont have to clean him everytime he uses the bathroom, i also have a chihuahua and he been on blue buffalo since a puppy and no issues at all with his stool, thank you for reading hope someone can help me

For real help your best bet is to contact a vet (veterinarian). With that said, i'm pretty sure i responded to a very similar post earlier in the day. To save time, here's a link to said post, "#2". My first step would be to try a kibble that has a different protein than you are currently feeding. My late dog got diarrhea from anything made with salmon even though he wasn't ALLERGIC allergic to it. It's pretty common for dogs to have a sensitivity or allergy to chicken, which is one of the most common kibble ingredients. You might consider a kibble specifically formulated for "sensitive stomachs" or the like. I would also have a vet do a fecal test to see whether your pup might have something like giardia or another parasite that is affecting his digestion. Also, how is the dog's weight? If he's is not lean, you may be feeding him too much, and overfeeding can cause soft stools as well. How many times per day do you feed him? If it's only once, splitting up his food into multiple smaller meals might help.

Not promoting, just stating how i feed my dog, even throwed in the disclaimer about checking with a vet before doing as i do. And for what it worth, my vets applauded my food choices. Now here's something to think about. Take a dog owner who believes its feeding the best balanced diet day in and day out, several years from now the FDA recalls your favorite food, due to toxins or other bad stuff. Me, i've been continually switching up what i feed the beast for decades, what are the odds all my choices were bad. Food for thought....
