we just got a puppy chihuahua male , and a new play pen a new bed he pooped the first time into the play pen he don't like it at all in there when we don't want him getting into trouble around the floors we put him in there but he yelped , the first time 2nd time OK 3rd time pooped in there by himself he walked in when we left it opened and did it.

pee pads on the floor he sometimes misses them but we treat him to a small treat if he goes on the paper . only had him for 1 week now.. what's next in for us we are seniors . and we love the doggy . he is smart and he can be lots of fun ., but but the poop problem what to do OMG.

You may need a smaller area for him to be when you aren’t home. If he has room, he will be comfortable going. If you give him a smaller space, it will be his bed only. Then he shouldn’t use it for pooping.
