So, I currently have my boy eating Castor and Pollux Organix Puppy Formula. It has a decent ingredient list, and consists of chicken. He doesn't love it, or hate it. He just kind of eats it.
However, when we were visiting family (and their dogs) over the holiday, I noticed that he was gravitating towards their Evo Red Meat Small Bites dog food. He'd try to steal as many bites of it as he could out of their bowl, and even ignored his own food. I understand that he can't be eating that at his age daily. It's way too high in protein for him. But, I was wondering if I could have some recommendations for some dog foods for a 4 month old Corgi Mix puppy (20 lbs).
It may be time for a change for him, as I want him to enjoy his food.
Too rich really you are feeding too much. If a dessert is too rich then you cut a smaller slice! I fed Max through 2 large bags of EVO when it first came out and while stool was tiny it never firmed up because I was overfeeding him. He didn't get fat because he pooped out some of the calories. If you switch it is going to be scary how little food he needs for good stool quality and maintaining his condition.
