So I almost never post on here (out of character for me and forums, haha) but I thought I would give this a shot

We have two dogs, one of whom we were told was a lab/husky/chow mix (I completely disagree, and her vet paperwork just reads "lab+x") but we then took in a puppy that we were told was a husky...

As months have passed (we got her at 8 weeks and she is almost two now) we started to get comments about how malamute-y she looks... and so I was looking to see what you guys all think
Notes: Her tail is rarely down, if shes standing and not eating its up and curled over her back

(and names... since 'the dogs' isn't always sufficient! Lucy is our lab mix, sitting at about 45lbs and almost 4 y.o, and Kokanee is the mystery sitting at 65lbs.. both do great with our cats and other peoples kids!)

Please pardon all the fur in the last picture! haha it had just started to get hot and our vacuum broke!.. and I couldn't resist a puppy picture... with our cat Dora (who is mr. anti social, haha)

I'd say its a possibility he could be a mix of husky and malamute, that's actually a pretty common mix and I've seen few of them. However, to me your dog appears to look more husky.

I say a huskyXmalamute mix. I do see some mal in there and I do see husky too!

Looks like a husky to me.. The ears appear to be more husky size (malalumte ears are smaller when compared to their body).
What color eyes does she have? Huskies can have the blue or brown (or party eyes).. Malamutes will only have brown eyes. So if she has blue eyes then it is probably husky

I've also seen huskies with yellow eyes and with some that could safely be called green.

Yup- huskies can have lots of different colored eyes... I am just asking about the eye color, because if it was blue eyes, then her dog wouldn't be a malamute.. =)

Actually malamutes can have golden like yellow eyes. I have never seen a husky with golden looking eyes. I have had malamutes come into my work pure bred have like almost yellow eyes. They just can't have blue eyes.

We tend to refer to malmutes, siberians, canadian eskimo dogs and klee klai as all "huskies", but looks more like a siberian than a malmute to me. She has a more wolf-ish snout. And its not like Siberian Huskies are exactly small dogs. She could definitely be a mix though. They do look quite similar and I imagine they get confused for one another quite often.

Based on the pictures posted I am leaning towards Husky. Beautiful girl by the way.
