My baby Juliette as of two days ago suddenly developed a severe redness around her entire body that the vets here in Miami florida are having a hard time diagnosing what it could be. She's already been to a Vet emergency and as of this morning im now in about 2k into a skin specialist. About an hour ago the specialist took a biopsy of her skin but it'll be a week or so for the specialists to get the results back. Im a big overgrown 6'4 firefighter and I helped deliver this little angel on my front door step two Years ago. She means the world to me and my daughters.

has anybody ever seen anything like this?

The only thing kind of like that (and less severe) I ever had in one of mine was redness like that as a reaction to a prescribed antibiotic. She never got another dose of that and it cleared up within a day. I'm sure the vets have already quizzed you about anything new she's eating or been exposed to. My one experience with a canine dermatologist was good - she never got a for sure diagnosis but came up with a treatment plan that reversed creeping hair loss anyway. I hope they can get this resolved for you. Good luck.

Take note of anything that's changed in your home recently - new laundry detergent, new cleaner, new scent diffuser, etc. Even if there's a new bed, blanket, or piece of furniture she's spending time on. I of course can't say whether or not it's for sure a contact allergy that could be caused by something like what's listed above, but if it comes back as an allergic reaction you'll have a head start in trying to narrow down things that came into her world around the same time as this started.

Good luck! Give us updates if you can.

Hey everybody thanks for checking in on me and my story. Im about 6k in and there's still no official diagnosis on Juliette. The biopsy was done two three days ago, it was so hard on her little body..When I was able to finally see her she didn't even want to move a bit because of the pain. They chose 5 sites for the biopsy.
1-3 across her belly spaced equally, the last two; one by her front left leg and the last rear right leg.
The bad part is the test takes a week to be correctly Collected, sent by snail mail, processed, assessed by specialists then a determination agreed on and results sent back... I was scared to death of possibly getting the results too late... Its a horrible feeling.
Juliette is now at a hospital where there is a group of credited, vetted, internal specialist on staff 24 hours a day. After two days of tests, her white blood cell count was too low..she took as of now, 3 plasma transfusions. Transfusions went smoothly. Brought her numbers up and now as of an hour ago has eaten for the first time in 3 days. (she's been given neutrophil to this point.)
Symptoms are weird just because although she was red all over.. the Benadryl, epi had zero effect on her skin. So were just waiting on the results from the biopsy and im hoping I don't get a $2800 results that say "yes she's allergic to something" I would love to know what it is.
Ill keep you guys posted!
