1.) I know concrete can hurt human knees, is it the same with dogs?

2.) Walking in the sunlight. For some reason every road by my house besides the highway (which I don't want to walk on) leads directly east -west. So unless I walk after sunset or before the sun comes up (not always possible), we're going to be walking in the sun at some point in our walk. I have a hat wtih a brim, but the dogs are walking right into the sun. It doesn't seem to bother them, but still...

Anyone know anything about this?

Young dogs with developing joints can suffer joint damage if walked too long on concrete on run on it before they are mature. Especially large breed dogs which mature slower. Adult dogs can suffer injury if they aren't conditioned slowly to it.

Dogs can develop cataracts just like people can, from the sun. But dogs don't routinly wear sunglasses.
