When I take my dog for a walk, she will go down the street, but she just stops and turns back. She then starts running very fast back to the house. When we get to the driveway (I am surprised that she knows where the house is), she goes right to the front door. I also have another problem with walking my dog. When she is walking, she will constantly stop and start sniffing grass, leaves, twigs, etc. Sometimes she will even pick it up but I always catch her. How can I stop all of the above?

You "want to stop all of the above".....the more important question I would be asking is why doesn't my dog want to walk with me? But, you didn't so, sniffing grass and picking things up is very natural and that's a part of all walks....letting the dog be a dog at brief intervals. Wanting to go back home is a confidence/socialization issue and those are the two things you'll need to work on. As you said dog...not puppy....I assume you've done some of that training already so, go back to those early lessons.
