I gave the pups some chicken legs yesterday. Brigit my little dog, isn't as good a chewer as the boys, and she threw up, and it looked like she just threw up some of the meat she didnt' chew. Is that normal, or does she just need time to learn how to chew it? That was the second raw anything she's ever had, and she threw up last week after the turkey necks. She didn't feel bad, and was still happy and hoppy. So I'm not too worried about it, I have a feeling she just needs to chew more. She chewed the actual bone great, it was just the meaty part she didn't really know what to do with.

My dogs did the same thing in the beginning, but it was bone bits that came up. Seems whatever is swallowed "too big to digest" has a safeguard mechanism somewhere to regurgitate it back up.

Also, sometimes I think it takes a while (a couple of weeks to a month) for digestive juices to handle the difference from kibble to raw.

Thanks guys. I gave frozen chicken legs yesterday, and she had to chew that, and there was no vomit! I was excited. I think she's getting the hang of it now. She still hasn't learned to hold it with her paws and pull with her mouth like the boys have. I don't think she wants to get dirty.
