My poor 4 month old puppy has been having the runs and vomiting for the past month.
I've taken him to the vet twice for it which has resulted in £110 of medicine given to him and nothing has improved.

I'm sorry if I seem a bit ignorant for asking - but I always thought an issue as common as this would have been solved a bit easier in puppies, especially after giving him this much medication and 2 appointments with him, but nothing has improved. Should I take him to a different vet or just take him back to the same one?

Any advice would be appreciated as I just want my poor puppy to be well again.

How soon after you brought him home did it start? It could be something as simple as a change in water and/or food. Also, some intestinal parasites, like coccidia and giardia are really hard to find, and can take multiple fecal tests before anything shows up.

The issue started when he just about turned 4 months old and he came home at around 8 weeks, he's had no issues until then. The vet actually hasn't suggested a fecal test yet or a food change, just given us a lot of medicine and said he has a high temperature.

Wait. I am FLOORED that a vet would see these symptoms and a high temperature and would just send you home with meds and no further testing.

Fecals are cheap and easy. Any dog with persistent diarrhea should have a fecal testing done.

And honestly, with the high temperature, other symptoms, and your puppy's age, this sounds very serious. Like, potential-parvovirus serious. I am not a vet. But if I was a vet I would have tested for parvo first and foremost. Maybe we aren't getting the full story here. But if I were you I would get your dog to a different vet or an emergency clinic ASAP.
