I own two female huskies and am fostering a male boxer, Diesel, while his owner is deployed overseas. The girls are 2 years old and and he is 1. They have endless energy and play all the time at home and we also go to the dog park for about 2 hours 3-5x a week. Diesel is getting pretty chewed up on his neck and upper shoulders from playing and wrestling. The play is not overly rough but due to his very short and thin fur he has no protection. He loves the play and isn't yelping or anything, but his shoulders and neck are getting pretty well scraped up from the teeth of my dogs and others. He has a lot of scabs and very minor little scrapes in various stages of healing. I need something VERY sturdy and tough that can take the repeated mouthing that happens during play. Anyone have suggestions for me? Or an idea other than getting a coat? I don't want to do anything that discourages play unless absolutely necessary, and with the scrapes being minor (though many) I don't feel it's at all necessary to prevent him from playing.

Thanks for responses. Boar vest would be good material but the ones I can find are open on the top.

The neck guards wouldn't go down onto his shoulders far enough :(

I checked out the ones at BPS and the reviews are awful, saying they fall apart in no time.

It looks like a hunting vest is the way to go. Now to find one that is covered on top, isn't too expensive (under $50), and would fit his deep chest...
