Vent: Before my head blows up, cruel dog treatment.

On one of my local dog groups there is a person with a Catahola/lab mix 11wk old pup that they got at 5wks. They first had issue and said the pup was to rowdy, people posted helpful info like exericise, its a baby, etc. A few days later it was I think the dog is deaf because of the way it acts, lots of suggestions to go to the vet, some at home test, etc. Now she wants to dump the pup because it isn't housebroke. She claims the poor pup has horrible poo and goes all the time. She feeds Purina ONE which she claims is top of the line quality food for pups. I suggested that maybe the pup had an issue with the grains in the food and so did some other people and she point blank said,Well this pup ain't getting any special food so it can just stay outside in a pen if no one wants it. How freaking mean. I asked if her child had a dietary issue would she still force her child to eat the food and tell her to just suck it up? I'm so ticked off.

Some people are just well....

Perhaps offer to take the pup and rehome it (since I'm sure whoever she got it from wouldn't be responsible enough to take it back) and get it on better food in the mean time. If she's leaving an 11 week old pup outside I'd call AC on her and report it.
Wow, not housebroken at 11 weeks? That's just . . . wow. honestly. wow.

LOL I know very few that are, Sounds like this person is a little ignorent and just not willing to admit it. Honestly though, we get people like that here all the time.
Just got a moment to finally come update. She surrendered the dog to the rescue. I bought her the first bag of TOTW Pacific stream and I also got some duck treats. The rescue was able to take her only because I am paying for her food bill and spay, the previous owner actually had all her shots currrent and had her on heartworm meds so there was no cost for that. We are going to try her for a month on TOTW and see how it goes. The rescue says they don't think she is actually deaf and once she is more settled they are going to see how things go before there is cost to have her tested.
Awesome to hear a happy ending for this pup! Keep us posted on how she does and if you could get pics it'd be great (you know we're puppy fanatics around here).
