My boyfriend has a 10 month old yellow lab puppy. I've spent the past 7 months around the puppy, Noah, so it's not like I'm someone new to him. He's always been quite affectionate and a lap dog, but this past week he's been a little overly friendly I'd say. He has started sniffing certain areas of mine all the time and following me everywhere. Sometimes after he sniffs, his teeth will start chattering or he'll whine a little. When I'm on the couch, he wants to be right on top of me. He'll start licking me everywhere and pawing at me, and literally tries to climb on me to get as close as possible I guess. He does not hump me or anything though. I'm the only person he does this too, and while I love the boy very much and he's so sweet, his affection can be a little much at times now! Any ideas as to why he's become so attached recently? Thanks!

Dogs repeat what they find rewarding.

Give the pup a reason to find settling down on a mat rewarding, so he can repeat that when he's being too much.
