Hey everyone. So I already had a 4 month old German Shepherd and today I brought home a 4 month old Blue Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog). They are playing and getting along great. My GSD is a little too much sometimes and my ACD will settle somewhere or attempt to hide away to rest. He isn’t upset but he definitely wants a break more often than she does.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks for our journey ahead. Not that we’re having any issues so far, just want to know if anyone knows anything I don’t about raising 2 pups!

My advice is to return the ACD. Raising two puppies isn't twice the work, its more like four times the work.

If you want to keep both of them, you need to keep them separated for the most part to avoid littermate syndrome. Separate crates, separate training, separate "alone with the human" time. Limited together time. This is a good article on littermate syndrome. Leerburg | Raising Two Pups at a Time: Why It's a Bad Idea
