I've always heard that dogs that have puppies than spayed make better dogs than spayed and not having puppies.I want to have mine spayed, she just turned four months. Is this just a myth,or is there any truth to it? Also, when is the right age for dogs,or pups to be spayed? I've always heard 6 months.I heard that dogs that don't have puppies and spayed,it changes their temperment.I don't want that to happen because she has such a sweet temperment.

Myth - actually by having her spayed before having puppies helps cut her risk for certain kinds of cancers. At least that's what my vet said! :D

I think spayed females make the best dogs. You don't have to worry about them sneaking off or any males sneaking in when she is in season! (I've seen males climb fences to get in with females in season! )

Legacy
My sister had a pit bull that ate through the bathroom door when she was in heat.I'm also trying to avoid a fence climbing female.
