Treats before me?

Just something that happened to me a while ago. I had a treat in my hand and a treat in my pocket because I was playing with my puppy on the floor. Because I was down at his level he was jumping about and having fun. He sat for the treat in my hand and jumped for it when I told him to. Then I had an idea. What would he do if I played dead? Of course, I expected him to lick my face, whine, hit me with his paw...anything to try and wake me up. And what does the rascal do?

He jumps over me, poking me in the ribs with his paws, and dives into my pocket for the other treat and walks away.

Well, Buddy, I know where your loyalties lie...(but what's he gonna do when he runs out of treats to eat and he can't reach the treat box or the food bag and I'm still playing dead on the floor?) :eyebrows:

Lol! This story made me laugh! It reminds me of the time I was chasing Leeo through the snow and ran into a snow covered metal basketball hoop with my forehead ... hit the ground running in one second flat! All Leeo did was check on me and ran away again! :D

Thanks for the smile today.
I haven't tried to play dead with my dog yet. She'd probably sniff me for treats, finding none, would leave to chase the cat.

Ouch, right in the head! You gave me an LOL too (and a shooting pain through my forehead. I can almost feel it!).

Hahahaha, I have no doubt about that! You have a cat too? My puppy us afraid of cats...and mice...and his own shadow...
LMAO! Colby and Ace both look out for #1. If we're on a walk and a noise spooks them, they are GONE. It's like, "Thanks for all the protection, guys. I'll just fight off these grizzlies myself."

Seriously laughing here! Dogs are brave creatures, but in the face of fear it's every man/dog for themselves!
Haha, that's so cute. Otto would go for my face and Charlie would try to find any remaining bits of food on me.

That's one thing I have in common with canines...food = happiness!
Lol, Stella would give me wet willies and lick my face until I gave in and made her stop. She swears she is the world's best kisser!
My husband was keeping treats in his pockets all the time when we first got Kabota. He had to stop when he woke up from a nap because Kabota had stuck his entire head into my husband's pocket, eaten the treats, then tried to get out and couldn't. Imagine waking up to a thrashing and whining in your pocket!
Oh my God, LOL and :eek:I think I would jump into my ceiling or something if Buddy was stuck in my pocket. Kabota must have a good sense of smell too. He must be pretty brave to get treats!
