A vet-quality spot-on like Frontline, Advantage, Revolution, etc. is best. Or an oral product like Comfortis or Trifectis. Flea collars aren't very effective. . .your dog won't have any fleas around his neck but the rest of him will be fair game.
Aren't flea collars dangerous, too? I remember being told that, but it could have been an urban myth. Anyway, I like frontline. It works really well for me.
