1. Prey model raw diet and single ingredient treats (read dehydrated meat)
2. Lots of exercise and trying to always find new mental challenges

5. Early and continuing socialization
6. Preventative training - ie. teach the dog what you want it to do in specific situations before a problem or bad habit arises.
7. Minimal and as needed vaccinations/medications - we use monthly flea meds but no heartworm or tick preventatives because of the lack of the threat of these in our area
8. Know thy dog - know what is normal for them and what is not normal with everything from behavior, eating habits to poop color
9. Listen to your dog - listen when your dog is telling you it's nervous, stressed, afraid etc. A relaxed and calm dog is a healthier dog.
