My 4 1/2 month old puppy got a hold of a pillow yesterday and I noticed blood on it from where he had been chewing. I examined his mouth as much as I could and saw blood around one of his back teeth. I had him bite down on a wash cloth later last night and faint traces of blood appeared. Could this be from him teething?

Sounds like it. My 5-month-old has been teething like crazy. I found blood on a few of her toys, but not a lot. I've also found teeth on the floor--about 4 or 5 so far, although I think she's swallowed a few. She really doesn't care about the blood in her mouth; she'll continue playing regardless of what is happening.

Yeah sounds normal to me! My puppy didn't bleed much ,and often ate his own teeth! You can hear him crunching on them lol...Freeze a towel in the fridge with some chicken broth on it, and it should help soothe those aching gums :(
