Trying to figure out what command to use to basically say do what you want, just not here.

For instance, stay off the volleyball court or don't come inside/follow me on a walk. I don't want to use "stay" because that means she can't move till I release, and I don't want her to be stuck in place or deciding when "stay" ends.

For reference, dog is a 20 week golden retriever so she is very sociable.

In reality, you can use any command sound you wish. You need to train the association of the wanted behavior to the command sound.

Seems to me you are wanting three different behaviors. 1.) To stay off the volleyball court. 2.) Don't come inside. 3.) Don't follow me.

For #1 you could try the "Off" command. The difficulty will be association with the court and varying locations or surfaces or court dimensions. This could be an appropriate time to tether the dog or train a "Place" command to have the dog lay on a mat.

#2 is simple. No command is needed. Just go inside and close the door. You may need to use a Blocking signal to stop the dog.

#3 could be similar to #2. Use the Blocking signal and go about your business.
