Hi there, we have an 8 month old Golden Retriever who is on Eukanuba Large breed puppy food. He hates it. I tried supplementing with yogurt, peanut butter, rice - nope. hates it. Any suggestions for a large breed puppy food? he's 80 lbs (not an ounce of fat on him - very healthy and muscular). I've heard Authority has a large breed puppy food - is it any good? What about Halo?
thanks!
My puppy eats Science Diet Large Breed-she seems to like it and it is very healthy. Maybe see if a friend uses one of the dog foods you're interested in and ask for enough to give your dog to try, then see which one he likes the best.
Look for food that has meat as the first ingredient. And stay away from the ones that list "meat by-products" in the ingredient lists. When you look at the grains, look for good quality whole grains.
My 125lb gsd did great on Nutrience dry food, but we gave him the medium breed rather than the large breed food. His system couldn't process the large breed chunks. There are no by-products in this food.Hope this helps
