Hi All!
I have a few questions about puppy eating habits. We added Pippa to our household two weeks ago and she is now 9.5 weeks old. So far things have been going very well. She does great in her crate, potty training is going well, she and our older dog enjoy each other, and she's learned to respect the space and belongings of our toddler. My biggest concern is her eating habits. She was born via. emergency c-section and her mother never produced enough milk for the little. They were bottle fed from the start and occasionally nursed but the breeder was unsure if mom was really producing anything. Breeder weaned them on to Purina Puppy Chow after the formula. She was eating well at the breeders. We had her on Hills Prescription Low Residue Puppy food as we transitioned her to Eukanuba Pure Puppy Growth.
She ate great when we first got her, but the last week has been on and off. I've been feeding her three times a day the recommended amount for her size. She's good about eating all her breakfast, but the other two meals are hit and miss. Our other dog eats three times daily and devours his food quickly. But Pippa doesn't really seem interested. I don't think it's an issue with the taste of the food, as she eats breakfast with no issues. However, I'm not sure why she doesn't eat the other two meals.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I've tried feeding it dry and wet down (she seems to prefer dry) and have tried added soft food (no difference). She started picking out the Low Res puppy food so I've stopped putting that in and she's on straight Eukanuba Pure Puppy Growth.
Thanks in advance for your replies!
