Haven't seen this mentioned (maybe I missed it)

Lech claims this dog was a service and therapy dog. Two months after the dog dragged a four year old under the table at a food court, the same dog attacked a two year old who was playing on a "no dogs" beach. Some people should not be allowed near dogs, let alone profess to train them.

They didn't insist he put down the dog after the first incident? And he continued to take the thing out in public?!

It's one thing to have a reactive, fear aggressive or human aggressive dog. If you keep it kenneled and away from people, especially children, okay*, but to bring it out in public where unsuspecting children play? Why not just fire a gun into a crowd?

ETA: *I mean this in the same way I kept my DA dog away from other dogs. I don't mean that all reactive or FA dogs should be put down, but if you can't manage the behavior, you shouldn't have the dog.

Not only did he continue to take the dog in public, but when the second attack occurred, the dog (and I think two others) were off leash on a beach which was off limit for dogs. In both incidents, it appears that bystanders had to rescue the children from the dog while Lech sort of watched. In the first incident (which was caught on a security cam) you can clearly see the dog alert on the little girl when she gets up from her table, and goes somewhere, and CONTINUES to track her until she comes back and is within range for him to grab. The child is not running or screaming, or looking at the dog. For some reason this person who claims to be a dog expert with a 100% success rate (except, apparently with his own dog) appears to not notice what is going on, or do anything to break his dog's attention on the kid. AND he described the dog as a service dog, and a therapy dog. And takes no responsibility for what happened to two small children.

I cannot believe he still had that dog after the first incident... What a piece of work he is.

The dog in question has been put to sleep.
Being in the area where this has happened, I've been hearing all about it for the last few weeks. I cannot get over the number of people around here who still support this guy, he hasn't taken any responsibility for what has happened, he keeps saying he'll reveal "his side" of the story... yeah, we're all still waiting...

Ugh don't go read his blog posts about it unless you want to be furious. I can not BELIEVE how many comments there are in support of him (thouhg I assume he deletes the bad one). Are people really that stupid? I saw not one post expressing sorrow for the little girl.
