Sometimes dogs can be too clever, so tell a story of cleverness your dog shows!

Rex is the sneakest and most clever dog i have encountered. I know alot of people will get mad at me but he stays outside in a dog pen. But its a decent size dog pen, it is about 40 by 20 or so.

Anyways, he can get out of any pen if he decided to do so. So you have to keep and eye on him. my parents and sister leaves about 2 or 300 feet away from us and he escapes sometimes to go lay down beside their dogs fence. and sometimes he tries to Inscape(he digs under the fence and gets insode the dog pen to play)(my sisters dog is not quite bright enough to escape so he never gets out). Anyways, after i let him out for a little while and walked him and feed him one morning, I went inside to get ready for work. I looked outside during the process and he is digging in the back corner near the fence. He is trying to dig out. However, i purposely made extra noice before i opened the door and when i did he covered the hole near the fence with leaves and went and layed down in the middle of the fence like he was resting. So when i closed the door and looked out the window he went back to the same spot digging. Then i repeated my action and he covered the hole up with leaves and ran to the middle. It was hillarious....

Aw... poor pup... I'd reward him by not making him stay in the pen if he doesn't want to! :D

I've posted about this before, but my puppies play pranks on each other. They ring a bell when they want to go outside. Every once in a while, if one is playing with a toy the other wants, he will ring the bell as if he wants to go out. When the other pup hears the bell, he runs to the door, leaving his toy behind. Then the pup who rang the bell will run over to the toy and snap it up to play.... he never had any intention of really going out! :D

Sometimes when I'm at my desk, I'll play fetch with the pups. I'll throw it and the three will run down the hall after it, then the "winner" trots back to me with the ball, with the other two close behind. Well, Dabney figured out that he could get a head start by staying midway down the hall... he always catches the ball now. I call it playing outfield... it's funny to see him poised to catch the ball while the other two are near me watching for me to throw it!

Cerbie when we got him, went straight for our kitchen trash can. He then went to the office trash can, then the bathroom, to make sure they were all off limits. he'll also try to jump on the furniture if we rearrange stuff, just to test his limits. HE's a funny guy.

Ilya knows how to read people's minds! ok... not really, but he does know how to get us to chase him for fun. On a busy holiday, I was getting ready for company and not paying too much attention to him when all the sudden he is carrying my purse by the handles across the living room. I know he made sure I saw him so I put everything down and went to find him. When I reached around the corner where I saw him headed, there he was sitting and waiting for me with a smile and my purse right in front of him!

He also tricks Lola, our terrier mix, to play with him. She doesn't really like to play with him and I think she finds him annoying. He will ask for a biscuit and then place them in the middle of the living room in plain sight for Lola to see. He then hides behind the sofa and here comes Lola walking in the living room. She tilts her head to see a biscut laying in the middle on the floor and she goes to retrieve it. The minute she has her mouth on the biscuit, Ilya pops out from behind the sofa and pounces in front of her. She jumps up startled and runs off without the biscuit and Ilya will hide in another spot like behind the kitchen doorway leaving the biscuit in the middle of the floor again. This happends for about 3 more times before Ilya lets her have it....... I think Lola hates him sometimes.

This isn't about Dallas, but our previos dog, Murray. Our dogs are never allowed ont he couch. But, one day I came home for lucng (never usually do that) and I saw Murray on the couch, her front paws resting on the back of the coucha nd she was takig in all the sights. When she saw my car pull in the driveway, she did a double take and got off the couch. Here's the scary part. When I came in the house, she was laying under the dining room table. She saw me, got up and stretched & yawned, like she had been there all morning.

Misty does quite a lot of clever little things..

For example, she uses socks to gain attention. She will pick them up right in front of you and stand there for a moment. If you look at her, she'll take off with it. She NEVER chews them, just carries them. One day, we figured out why.

My boyfriend and I were in our room talking, and in trots Misty. She picks up a sock, sees us see her, and takes off. We didn't move. A few seconds later, she peers in and then gets another sock. This went on until she had removed all floor socks from the ground and all socks from the hamper. When she realized there were no more socks, she scurried off..

Only to reappear at the door a minute later with a sock in her mouth, her tail wagging and her eyes bright.

She utilizes socks to try to get us to follow her, because before this incident, we would trail after her to get the socks.

Tiberius removes the plastic tray from his kennel (its one of those wire ones). He only does it if his pillow and his stuffed toy aren't in there with him. He will also chew the end of a rawhide or bone until its flat, then stand it on end and walk away from it. Otherwise, Tiberius pretty much just lays around
