I brought Pepper home about a month ago. I've noticed that she is not very social with other dogs. The day I picked her up we took her the park and she met a large sheep dog and the two of them ignored each other and sniffed a little. Soon after that I took her to the dog park and she was very aggressive with the other dogs (lunging and growling). She is 4 years old and I'd love to be able to take her to the dog park to play with the other dogs.
She tends to have some dominate behaviors with new people that we're working to correct. I've never had to deal with dogs that haven't been social with other dogs and it worries me when people let their dogs run around some of the local trails without their leashes. Many of the other owners just let them run about where ever they want and I don't want any incidents happening because a loose dog ran up on us and surprised us.
We'll be taking her to some more obedience classes(I was told that she was taken and passed with flying colors by the rescue group but I'm beginning to question that). What's a good place to start?
