So . . . Some Dogs Actually Sleep?

I've had Cupid for five months now, and he's not much of a sleeper. Don't get me wrong: he will usually sleep through the night with a potty break or two. But during the day, he's go-go-go with maybe a couple of 20-minute naps.

This week, I got a puppy, and he actually sleeps during the day. For long periods of time. Yes, I know that puppies sleep a lot, but it still feels amazing and new. LOL! I hope he encourages Cupid to sleep a little more.

Anyone else have dogs who don't sleep much except at night?

my dogs sleep after a long couple of hours of strenuous excercize and also at night
Maybe used to sleep constantly!!! i could never wake her up...tho she was just tiny when i first got her(probably 7weeks old)..now that she is older..i havn't acctually seen her sleep in MONTHS.. tho i'm sure that she does... while i'm at work and at night. I miss her naping days!:p
My dog Rinoa sleeps with me in my bed at night and also sometimes during the day when I'm on the computer or playing video games.

Rinoa also sleeps with her eyes open. Anyone else's dog do this?
Lola sleeps pretty good when she does sleep. If she is napping during the day and I am home as soon as I go outside she is awake. Sometimes I see her sleeping with her eyes half open and I can take my hand wave it in front of her eyes and she will sleep for a few seconds more then wake up.

I have her crate in the bedroom so when I wake up she is usually already awake but quiet which is good. About 2 days ago I woke up and she was still sleeping which is unusual. I thought that perhaps she was dead so I looked closely and seen she was breathing and just sleeping. I guess she was just sleeping more deeply than she usually does. Would be nice if she was always a heavy sleeper like that.
I'm thinking my dog never sleeps. lol. I always hear him in his crate moving around. Once and a while I'll catch him taking a little cat nap in the sunny patch at the foot of the stairs. Whenever I peek in at him during bed time (no matter how late or early) Tiberius is awake. The couple times I've seen him sleep in his crate, it was under his bed
LOL my dogs remind me of my kids when they were about 2 years old. They have a nap "schedule". I can almost always count on them a taking a 2 hour or so nap around 11am, and another nap for an hour or so around 4pm.
you got a new puppy? WHERE ARE THE PICTURES?

oops! i found them!

How do you know he's really sleeping through the night? Maybe he's just waiting until you go to bed, and then going through your sock drawer while you sleep. Or, it could be worse...
