There are not any breeds that should live outside. The only exception that I can think of would be livestock guardians that live on farms and have outdoor enclosures (though you should not get a livestock guardian unless you have livestock for them to guard - they will be miserable otherwise).
With your work schedule, you would need to consider either A) hiring someone to come let your dog out and walk it during the day, or B) finding a doggy daycare. Puppies especially can not be left alone for more than a few hours at a time, but even adult dogs need stimulation/enrichment during the day. It seems like a dog that is alone all day and lives outside would not be getting enough attention. Just my two cents.
