Hi, I have recently adopted a family members shih tzu- he is 1 y and a few months old. I have always had large dogs, and this is my first Shih Tzu. He went to obedience school (apparently) where he learned his basic commands. I can continue to work on that- the problem I am having is my 8yo Black Mouth Cur mix doesn't really play with other dogs, she tolerates him, and warms him with growl or bark when he is too much for her- but when I let them outside to potty or throw the ball- he chases her, she is fine with that- but he jumps at her face constantly. There are no boundaries for this little dude. I tell him no, I stop the behavior, I split them, and he still will do it. He wants to play, there is no maliciousness in it at all, but how can I get him to stop jumping at her face?

I think you are doing all the right things, and I think the older dog's behavior is also healthy. Is Max backing off when Sascha growls/barks?
