We introduced her to kongs she loses interest, doesn't really get to digging in, bullystick, stuffed animals, tug ropes, rolling balls, bones. She has all of them. Nothing interests her long term. Any home-made suggestions or any other things we can buy? She is a 3 month shihtzu. Thanks!

It is the right size kong. We've made them super easy too. We give her lots of interaction...there is no shortage of that but I would like for her to like her toys so am looking for ideas.

Are you rotating her toys? My puppy, also 3 months, gets her lamby on Monday, dragon on Tuesday, and so on. So when Monday rolls around the lamby is all new again. Then she gets whatever short term toys she likes such as an empty water bottle with the label, cap and ring removed. We went to 7-11 and when we were done with our big gulp cups we rinsed them out and gave them to her. My husband got a new pair of work boots, we gave her the shoe box. We give her ice cubes and my Tupperware lids that no longer have matching bottoms.

The cap, the ring under the cap, and the label should be removed. This one is not because Dad gave it to him without me fixing it! But the empty water bottle is my dogs favorite toy! He likes the texture and the crunching noise! It must be supervised though ........ so they cannot chew a piece of it off and swallow it. :D

yes we are rotating her toys. Our friends suggested the empty wattle bottle today so we did try that as well. She played a bit but got bored quickly with it. She was into the paper towel roll a bit tonight.

When my pup was that young, nothing held his interest for too long because, I think, he was just a baby and didn't have much of an attention span! As he's gotten older, single objects hold his interest for a lot longer.
