I have a 16 year old bichon, she's mostly blind, deaf, but she's still ticking.

She often has what we like to call "senior moments", so I thought I'd share some of her moments and if other senior dog owners have stories to share, please add them!

Senior moment 1: She will stand in front of the wall by the door waiting to go out, thinking it's the doorway.

Senior moment 2: She will put on "the breaks" when there's a shadow on the ground, thinking it's a hole.

Senior moment 3: She'll be walking along and start to veer off the sidewalk onto the street.

Senior moment 4: I can come home, sit down beside her, pet her, kiss her, and she'll still be sound asleep.

Any other senior stories?

I had several dogs who became seniors and the main thing I noticed was that I couldn't sneak up on them anymore. Also, the one who was afraid of loud noises (fire works especially) didn't even hear them if she was in the house, which was nice! The both became very sick before they had any other signs and had to be put down, so I'm help in that regard. Sorry!
