My Shiba Inu has recently started to be scared of lightening bugs. He won't go outside in my backyard at night. He sees one and barks to get back in. When I take him out on a walk at night and he sees one he freaks out. Poor fella, what can I do to help him?

I have been teaching Eddee the word "Bug" and he is jumping in the air to catch the lightening bugs. Maybe you can use the word "Bug" as soon as it lights up and reward him with a treat while he is calm ... before he starts going crazy. Then he may associate the bugs with good things. But you have to have your timing down properly. If you treat him as he is about to wig out ... he will think wigging out is what he is supposed to do.
