Yesterday we took a field trip to Great Sand Dunes National Park. I never did stop to find out how exactly these sand dunes came to be in the middle of the Rockies.

That's a lot of sand:

EVERYBODY got a great workout:

Wrestle time:

Even Kaki got in on the wrestle mania but I don't have photographic evidence.

Tyler has come to love recall work:

They ran themselves silly SO quickly. Sand is hard work.

Iz tired...:

Fun!!!

I'm from Colorado, been to the dunes a quite a few times. I always re-learn how they were formed, but playing in the river and rolling down the dunes has a tendency to make me forget.

Ooh, where in Colorado are you from?

The dogs endured a 4ish hour car ride so stopping to read about the dunes would have been borderline abuse for them.

I can't wait to go back and hopefully I'll be in better shape as the weather warms up and I start biking/running more. Sand really is hard work! I never thought I'd see these dogs get tired SO quickly.
