Are there any inexpensive, over the counter treatments for ringworm in dogs (assuming that this is what it is)? We adopted our dog early in March, and she got a clean bill of health from the vet, but in the last few days she's developed a bare patch, about the size of a silver dollar, on her left side just in front of her hip. The skin seems somewhat raised, is slightly reddish, and completely bare. She does seem to be a bit more itchy than normal.

Due to a serious case of bad timing, I literally can't afford to get her checked out by her vet at this point in time. I lost my job at the end of March after dropping over $400 getting her spayed, vaccinated, etc (she also had a large leg wound that had to be sewn up). This is why I am seeking advice on the internet first. Ultimately we will try to get her seen if need be, but we're barely able to buy a gallon of gas for me to get to my new job.

Thank you in advance for the help, and I can try to post pictures later if needed.

Thanks for the reply :) I have had ring worm myself years ago, but I did not know if "human" antifungals would be appropriate for a dog as well. Thankfully the only other pets we have are two cats, and they avoid each other if at all possible.
