We just brought home a 7 month old Boston terrier. We got him from a young guy who no longer had time to care for the dog. He is an incredibly sweet and playful dog, if a bit dominant (another issue to tackle) .

But the previous owner told us he was pretty well housebroken and I don't have many reasons to doubt that. In the two days we've had him, he has only gone outside once (pee), and since then, no matter how long we are outside he won't go.

Do we have to start over, or is there an easier solution? He does seem to understand the basics, he will not go while he is put away home alone.

We are walking him in the morning, late afternoon, and before bed.

Any help/tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, we're obviously concerned he'll be going through all sorts of adjustment. And we've brought him from a smaller town to a big city, so it's sensory overload.

I'm just hoping to hear some success stories of similar cases where the dogs have "returned to normal" after a while. He does seem to be taking to us quite well for only being day three.

Thanks for the reply.
