Just posting some random shots of Poca late afternoon on the beach; across from the beach, actually. The first shot shows you how much light was available at 3:10 pm -- was a strange angle at that time of day. The other shots show Poca in that light. Everything in the background had a pinkish glow and Poca looked a little surreal against it. Still trying to figure out the settings on this camera....

Poca is beautiful. :) I happen to like that lighting. My favorite times of day to take pictures are in the morning or late afternoon, where there's still a lot of sun but it's not ridiculously bright out.

poca is so pretty. what camera do you have?
Thanks! It's a Nikon d70s. I wasn't using any filters and like I said, it was an interesting light. I saw her out on the balcony and grabbed my camera to snap a few pics on auto.

Thanks, although she looks grizzled with all that sand on her -- we had just come back from the beach and I hadn't wiped her down yet. I've taken a lot of sun rises/sets & landscapes early morning or evening but usually get frustrated trying close ups of people or pets or objects because I don't know how to handle the light. Now that I've tried this I have to agree with you -- you can get some interesting results without the challenge of mid-day glare.
